How do I request an IU account?
You may create your own email account and network id at http://itaccounts.iu.edu after you have been admitted in IU East.

Where can I get software or hardware for my classes?
You may download a wide array of commonly used software applications free at IUWare online. As a member of IU community, you are entitled to special offers on the latest computers, printers, and accessories. Visit http://computerguide.iu.edu/ for information. For used equipment, the IT department hosts surplus sales several times a year. Visit http://www.IU East.edu/it/surplus.shtml for current offerings.
Where can I get my books for my courses?
The IU East Bookstore maintains a current book lists for all courses. You may also purchase your books online at IU East Bookstore.
What do I do if I have technical difficulty?
Contact the IT Help Desk at iueitsup@indiana.edu or by calling 765-973-8375. Most problems can be resolved in less than 24 hours. If there is a system-wide service problem, you will receive email notices regarding the problems and its resolution.
Where can I get computing help and training?
IU's award winning Knowledge Base maintains answers to millions frequently asked questions. Self-paced technology trainings on over 600 topics are also available at http://ittraining.iu.edu/.
What do I need to know about Plagiarism and Turnitin.com?
Plagiarism is a very serious issue with very serious consequences. Students taking online courses are held to the same code of conduct as on-campus participants. Please read this excerpt from Indiana University's Code of Student Rights, Responsibilities, and Conduct.
Turnitin.com is a plagiarism detection that may be used on student work at any time throughout their academic career at IU East. Student may wish to use Turnitin.com to submit their own work. Please click on "How to Submit a Paper to Turnitin.com" - or the "Turnitin.com Quickstart Video".

How do I make changes to my class schedule?
Note: In most cases you must remain enrolled for at least six (6) credit hours of classes each semester to be eligible for financial aid loans. During the first week of class and auto "W" period, fill out and sign the Schedule Change Form and fax it to Registrar's Office You will receive a confirmation from the Registrar's Office via email. You may also check the status using the self-service Student Information System via OneStart. After the auto "W" period, you must get instructor's signature to drop a course. Contact the instructor first. Fill out and sign the Schedule Change Form and fax it to the instructor. Instructor will sign the form and send it to the Registrar's Office. You will receive a confirmation from Registrar's Office via email. You may also check the status using the self-service Student Information System via OneStart.
When will my grades be available?
Grades are typically available one week after the last day of the semester. You may check your grades using the self-service Student Information System via OneStart.
What do I do if I have a question about a grade I received?
You need to contact your instructor first. If you cannot resolve the question with your instructor, you may submit a grade appeal to the Division Chair. The appeal will be reviewed by a faculty committee. Fill out and sign the grade appeal form and fax it to your academic Division. You will be notified of the decision via email.
I have relocated to another state, can I still take the courses?
Yes, you can still take the courses. You must, however, notify the Registrar's Office by sending a signed and dated letter via postal mail or fax. In the letter, please include your Student Identification Number, your old address, the address of your new residency, and the effective date. Fax or mail your letter to:

Note that the tuition and fees for future semesters will be assessed based on your new residency status.
How do I get an unofficial/official transcript or certification letter?
Official transcripts are available from the Office of the Registrar.. Each student receives one free certified copy of his or her transcript upon graduation (mailed 4-6 weeks after the degree is conferred). Additional copies are available at a cost of $5 each. You can request a copy by sending a signed and dated request via postal mail. In the request, please include your Student Identification number, your complete home address, where you want the transcript sent, along with a check or money order for $5 made payable to IU East, to:

You may also use OneStart, the university's Web-based student information service, to view your IU transcript. Note that if you have past-due financial obligations to the University, you will not be able to obtain copies of your transcript.
How do I register for online courses for next semester?
You must first consult with your academic advisor. After the consultation, your academic advisor will register all required courses for you. You may then register the electives via OneStart.
