Department of Music
The student interested in music but not planning to be a major will find a wide variety of courses and performing options from which to choose. Courses range from a basic music appreciation class that embraces both popular and classical styles to more specific courses in jazz, music theory, music fundamentals and rock and roll. Those interested in learning piano, voice, or guitar will find group and/or private instruction. Participation in university ensembles both vocal and instrumental is available on a limited basis by general or specific audition for people with minimal and/or previous performing experience.
IU East does not offer a degree in Music; however a degree can be earned in another area of Humanities and Fine Arts with Music as an emphasis. Talk to your advisor about the possibilities
