Admissions Requirements
Transfer Students
Requirements for admission as Transfer Student are the following:
- High School Graduation, or equivalent.
- Completion of 26 or more transferable semester hours at an accredited university or college (including junior and community colleges), with a GPA (on a 4.0 scale) of at least
- 2.0 for Indiana residents;
- 2.0 for those out of state residents who are covered by fee-reciprocity agreements that are in effect at the time of application;
- 2.5 for all other applicants;
- The applicant has not been dismissed for academic reasons from the institution he/she last attended.
Intercampus Transfers
The Indiana University system enables students with good academic standing to transfer easily among the eight campuses. Transfer credits are evaluated on a course-by-course basis, however most credits will transfer due to the similarity of course work on the various campuses.
Students transferring to IU East from another IU campus should contact IU East's Office of the Registrar for more information and instructions. Current IU East students wishing to transfer to another campus should discuss their plans with their advisor and contact the dean or designated advisor at the campus they plan to attend. The IU Intercampus Transfer Application must be submitted prior to transfer.
