B.A. in English - Technical & Professional Writing

Have you ever dreamed of using your love of writing in a career?  An IU Bachelor of Arts in English with emphasis on Technical and Professional Writing will give you the skills and flexibility to succeed in today’s workplace.  You’ll learn how to think critically and to communicate thoughts and ideas effectively, preparing you for a career in a wide range of fields from advertising and public relations to social services or writing for publication.

The B.A. online completion program in English consists of 60 credit hours (20 courses) to be offered over six academic terms/two calendar years.  Students are advised to follow the program plan below.

If any completion program requirements have already been met through transferable course equivalents, online alternatives may be selected in consultation with the assigned faculty advisor. No more than 64 credits can be accepted in transfer from 2-year institutions or community colleges.

It is recommended that the requirements below are met before beginning the online degree completion program.However, a student may elect to pursue the program even if this is not the case. A customized plan of study will be developed for the student to complete initial requirements if not previously completed.
