Summer Aid
Eligibility Requirements
- For 2009 Summer financial aid, students must have a valid Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2008-2009 academic year on file prior to June 30, 2009. The FAFSA may be completed online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
- Undergraduates must be enrolled in a total of at least six credit hours during the summer to receive summer student loan aid.
- Graduate students must be enrolled in a total of at least four credit hours during the summer to receive summer student loan aid.
Availability of Summer Aid
- Students who received Federal Stafford Loans up to their full annual eligibility during the previous academic year semesters are not eligible for Federal Stafford Loans in the summer. Borrower eligibility for Federal Stafford loans will begin again the following academic year.
- Any change in enrollment could result in a change to your financial aid eligibility. Decreases in enrolled credit hours, non-attendance in a class, or a total or unofficial withdrawal from summer classes may result in changes to your aid. You may lose eligibility for aid you've already received, including returning funds already received. We may also cancel any pending disbursements, and/or deny the processing of any new loan requests.
- Grant fund eligibility, including Pell, will be verrified based on enrollment as of May 23rd. If your initial registration is prior to or on May 23rd, your Federal Pell Grant will be based on your enrollment on May 23rd. If your initial registration for the summer term is after May23rd, your Federal Pell Grant will be based on your enrollment at the point we make the initial award calculation.
