Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

The FAFSA is the application required for most types of need-based aid. The FAFSA must be completed in order for a student to be considered for federal and state grants, federal student loans (including Stafford and Perkins), and Federal Work-Study.

SSACI Minority Teacher and Special Education Services Scholarship

The Minority Teacher/Special Education Services Scholarship is administered by the State Student Assistance Commission of Indiana; a student must be an Indiana resident to be eligible. Students must also complete the appropriate academic year´s FAFSA. Applications must be submitted to the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. The priority deadline is July 1 (prior to the start of each academic year).

Minority Grant Application

The IU East Minority Grant provides assistance to minority students.

Federal Parent PLUS Loan

The Federal Parent PLUS Loan may be borrowed by a biological or adoptive parent, or a step-parent, on behalf of a dependent, undergraduate student. The loan is subject to credit approval.

Federal Graduate PLUS Loan

The Federal Graduate PLUS Loan may be borrowed by graduate or professional school students on their own behalf. The loan is subject to credit approval.

Federal Perkins Loan

The Federal Perkins Loan is a low interest loan for students with exceptional need. Your school is your lender. For IU East students, the "school" for Perkins loan purposes is IU Bloomington.

Child of Certain Veteran's and Public Safety Officers Supplemental Grant Program

This program provides tuition assistance for eligible children of disabled Indiana veterans, children of POW/MIA from the Vietnam War, eligible children/spouses of certain members of the Indiana National Guard killed while serving on active duty, and eligible children/spouses of certain Indiana public safety officers killed in the line of duty. In addition, applicants must also file the appropriate academic year´s FAFSA and pay Indiana resident tuition/fees.

SSACI Nursing Scholarship

The Nursing Scholarship is administered by the State Student Assistance Commission of Indiana; a student must be an Indiana resident to be eligible. Students must also complete the appropriate academic year´s FAFSA. Applications must be submitted to the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. The priority deadline is July 1 (prior to the start of each academic year).

Returning Student Scholarship Application

** Please note that the 2009-2010 deadline has passed. We will start accepting applications for 2010-2011 on January 4, 2010. **

In order to be considered for an IU East scholarship, you must fill out a scholarship application. Eligibility is based on academic merit, although some scholarships also consider financial need.  These need-based scholarships require that the student file the FAFSA (www.fafsa.ed.gov) .

Veteran Request for Enrollment Certification

Veterans who wish to use their VA benefits to pay their educational expenses will need to complete the enrollment certification request each semester they wish to use their benefits.

Consortium Application

IU East students who wish to receive financial aid while attending another IU campus or Ivy Tech Community College Regions 6,9 or 11 must complete and be approved for a consortium before their IU East financial aid can be released. Please visit our office for instructions and an application.
