Indiana Plein Air Painters Association - January 20 - March 13

Pike Creek paintingIPAPA was begun in 1998 by a small group of artists who believed that interpreting nature in plein air (French for "in the open air") was the best way to capture the essence of a scene. Since then the group has grown to 300 members who paint together and learn from each other and who are committed to fulfilling IPAPA's mission of educating artists and non-artists to the joys of painting from nature. IPAPA "paintouts" are scheduled throughout Indiana from April through October, with workshops, retreats and "paint-ins" also scheduled during the winter months. This exhibit is organized and curated by Corrine Hull.

Kathy McGee - January 26 - March 18

painting for kathy McGeeKathy is a printmaker who explores social interactions and activities as well as self-realizations, calling into question ideas and associations regarding our interaction with the world, each other and how people perceive themselves. She was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio and the experience has influenced her work as she frequently uses images of animals, the occasional household item, landscape and other natural elements.

As a printmaker, Kathy employs various types of printmaking processes including intaglio, relief (mostly linoleum), lithography, and serigraphy. Additionally, she is a teacher in printmaking at the Columbus College of Art and Design.
