Academic Calendars
The Indiana University East academic year is divided into three terms: Fall (August to December), Spring (January to May), and Summer (May to August). You may take classes during each term or just the ones that are convenient for you. Review the academic calendars for important dates and deadlines.
SUMMER 2008 TERM & SESSIONS
| Apr. 14 | Summer fee statements available to students via OneStart.iu.edu ~ QuickPay. |

| May 2 | Fee Payment Due Date for students registering March 24- May 2. After this date, fee payment is due at time of registration. |
| May 12 | SUMMER CLASSES BEGIN for full 12-week term and Summer One (first 6-week classes) |
| May 12 - 16 | Late registration/schedule adjustment period for full 12-week term and first 6-week session (i.e. Summer One). $17.00 late registration fee in effect. |
| May 15 | Deadline to apply for graduation - June graduates. |
| May 16 | Last day to register, add courses, or change sections for full 12-week term and first 6-week session (i.e. Summer One). Final date to drop courses or to totally withdraw with no grade recorded. From May 17 through July 3, grade of "W" will be recorded for all 12-week courses dropped. From May 17 through June 2, grade of "W" will be recorded for all first 6-week courses dropped. |
| May 17 | Last day to drop courses or to totally withdraw with a 100 percent refund (12-week and first 6-week classes). |
| May 24 | Last day to drop courses or to totally withdraw with a 75 percent refund (12-week classes). |
| May 24 | Last day to drop courses or to totally withdraw with a 50 percent refund (first 6-week classes). |
| May 26 | Memorial Day Holiday (campus is closed). |
| May 31 | Last day to drop courses or to totally withdraw with a 50 percent refund (12-week classes). |
| June 2 | Final date to drop courses or to totally withdraw from Summer One (first 6-week classes) with an auto"W". |
| June 7 | Last day to drop courses or to totally withdraw with a 25 percent refund (12-week classes). |
| June 23 | Last day of Summer One (first 6-week) classes. Deadline to withdraw from Summer One with an instructor's grade of "W" or "F." Final examination day for Summer One classes. |

| June 30 | SUMMER TWO CLASSES BEGIN (second 6-week classes) |
| June 30 - July 7 | Late registration/schedule adjustment period for second 6-week session (i.e. Summer Two). $17.00 late registration fee in effect. |
| July 4 | Independence Day Holiday. |
| July 7 | Last day to register, add courses, or change sections for second 6-week session (i.e. Summer Two). Final date to drop courses or to totally withdraw with no grade recorded. From July 8 through July 21, grade of "W" will be recorded for all second 6-week courses dropped. Last day to drop courses or to totally withdraw with a 100 percent refund (second 6-week classes). |

From August 31 through October 29, grade of "W" will be recorded for all courses dropped. Last day to drop courses or to totally withdraw with a 100 percent refund. |
| Sept. 1 | Labor Day Holiday. Campus closed. |
| Sept. 6 | Last day to drop courses or to totally withdraw with a 75 percent refund. |
| Sept. 13 | Last day to drop courses or to totally withdraw with a 50 percent refund. |
| Sept. 20 | Last day to drop courses or to totally withdraw with a 25 percent refund. No refund after this date. |
| Oct. 14 | Second 7-week classes begin. |
| Oct. 27 | Early registration for Spring 2009 begins for continuing students. |
| Oct. 29 | Final date to drop courses or to totally withdraw from the University with an automatic "W". (Drops after this date must be approved by the instructor and academic dean.) |
| Oct. 31 | Open registration for Spring 2009 begins. |
| Nov. 15 | Deadline to apply for graduation - December graduates. |
| Nov. 24-30 | Fall Break - no classes (campus is open Nov. 24, 25, 26 and closed on Nov. 27, 28) |
| Dec. 8 | LAST DAY OF CLASSES. Deadline to withdraw w/instructor's grade of "W" or "F". |
| Dec. 9-15 | Final examination period. |
| Dec 15 | Last day of final examinations. |
| Dec 17 | Deadline for faculty to have their grades posted in SIS. |
