Individualized Tutoring
Individualized tutoring is available for any nursing student who would like to improve reading comprehension, study skills, test-taking skills, or APA documentation.
Test-Taking Workshops
Workshops are offered throughout the academic year to help students learn skills to better prepare for the questions found on nursing exams. In addition, workshops are offered to better prepare nursing students for their state licensure exam, NCLEX-RN. Workshops will be publicized through nursing classes. Additional workshops such as APA documentation are offered at the instructor's request.
Nursing JUMPSTART
All newly admitted nursing students are invited to get a head start in their nursing educations. Students and faculty have identified several areas they believe are essential for success in the nursing program. JUMPSTART sessions have been designed to strengthen these specific skills: critical reading/thinking, note-taking and test-taking, and math.
In addition, each January continuing students can review needed information in areas such as math for medications, content review on cardiac and pulmonary, APA documentation, pharmacology, and physical assessment.
