Nursing Workshops
Tutorial Services provides academic support for students enrolled in the School of Nursing. All support services are free. Workshops can include critical reading/thinking, note-taking, and test-taking. These are designed to strengthen skills and develop strategies in the areas essential for student success in the nursing program.
Here's what nursing students can learn from each workshop:
- Critical Reading/Thinking
Students who find it difficult to concentrate on their texbook assignments and retain information will benefit from this two-hour workshop by learning strategies for improving concentration and comprehension. - Note-Taking
Many students try to write down every word their instructor says and find that they just cannot keep up. This workshop will help students learn to write down what is important whether they are taking notes in class or from their textbook. - Test-Taking
Students will learn skills and develop strategies to better prepare them for the type of questions they will encounter on nursing exams.
Individualized Tutoring
Individualized tutoring appointments are available for nursing students who would like to improve reading comprehension, study skills, test-taking skills, or APA documentation.
