Work-Study Positions
Qualifications include the following:
- A grade point average of 3.0 in any course for which the student is providing assistance
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or more
- Professor recommendation
- Excellent communication skills
- Currently enrolled at IU East, and eligible for work-study
Clerical Work-Study

Summary
Serve as the clerical work-study to the Tutorial Services program that provides academic assistance to IU East students. Primary responsibilities are listed as below.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide clerical support to program staff.
- Serve as receptionist at the desk when the secretary is unavailable, answering the phone and directing students to our services.
- Compile student attendance records for the Supplemental Instruction program.
- Generate weekly reports detailing student assistance in the labs.
- Maintain student files.
- Design program publicity including newsletters, forms, and flyers.
- Assist in collecting and compiling end-of-semester data, including student evaluations.
- Prepare correspondence.
- Assist students in computer usage.
- Type practice exams for nursing study sessions.
- Participate in periodic Tutorial Services staff meetings.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work as required.
Qualifications
Currently an IU East student; college GPA of 2.0 or above; excellent computer skills (keyboarding and word processing); good communication, organization, and customer service skills; experience with Excel and Microsoft Office; experience with desk top publishing preferred; ability to maintain confidentiality, perform detailed tasks, and work both independently and as a team player.
