Title Clerical Work-Study

Hours 15-20 per week (mornings, afternoons, and/or evenings)

Summary

Serve as the clerical work-study to the Tutorial Services program that provides academic assistance to IU East students. Primary responsibilities are listed as below.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Provide clerical support to program staff.
  2. Serve as receptionist at the desk when the secretary is unavailable, answering the phone and directing students to our services.
  3. Compile student attendance records for the Supplemental Instruction program.
  4. Generate weekly reports detailing student assistance in the labs.
  5. Maintain student files.
  6. Design program publicity including newsletters, forms, and flyers.
  7. Assist in collecting and compiling end-of-semester data, including student evaluations.
  8. Prepare correspondence.
  9. Assist students in computer usage.
  10. Type practice exams for nursing study sessions.
  11. Participate in periodic Tutorial Services staff meetings.
  12. Perform other related duties incidental to the work as required.
Qualifications

Currently an IU East student; college GPA of 2.0 or above; excellent computer skills (keyboarding and word processing); good communication, organization, and customer service skills; experience with Excel and Microsoft Office; experience with desk top publishing preferred; ability to maintain confidentiality, perform detailed tasks, and work both independently and as a team player.
